This is the northernmost of seven bays in Broadstairs and it features chalk columns carved by the sea on the walls of the cliffs. It is a popular tourist location and has served as location for several films and TV series such as BBC’s D- Day: The Last Heroes, Tamil action drama Thaandavam and Sky’s comedy Hunderby amongst others as well as music videos, tv commercials and photoshoots for many fashion editorials.

This piece is part of a trilogy of pictures dedicated to this beautiful beach.

This triumphal arch is an iconic landmark in London, commissioned by King George IV to commemorate Britain’s victory on the Napoleonic Wars, it was built between 1826 and 1830 and is currently located on a traffic island between Hyde Park and Green Park, behind the Buckingham Palace gardens. Until 1882 when the arch was moved from its original location it held a statue of the 1st Duke of Wellington, which was replaced in 1912 by The Quadriga. This Grade 2 listed monument from Broadstairs is a portal built in 1540 that still spans Harbour Street and which has became one of the most typical images from this town. It originally held two heavy wooden doors that could be closed in times of threat from the sea.   This collage was made using recycled paper from magazines on a paper sheet. Paper Mosaic-collage on card. This piece shows a very typical view from the Broadstairs entrance to the ‘King George VI Memorial Park’, which links Broadstairs and Ramsgate in Kent.
