THE WELLINGTON ARCH
Paper Mosaic-collage on card. This triumphal arch is an iconic landmark in London, commissioned by King George IV to commemorate Britain’s victory on the Napoleonic Wars, it was built between 1826 and 1830 and is currently located on a traffic island between Hyde Park and Green Park, behind the Buckingham Palace gardens. Until 1882 when the arch was moved from its original location it held a statue of the 1st Duke of Wellington, which was replaced in 1912 by The Quadriga. Paper Mosaic-collage on card. This iconic landmark from Margate is located by the end of the Marine Gardens in the seafront. It was designed by Mr Henry Arthur Cheers and it was built between the years 1887 and 1889 to celebrate the golden jubilee of Queen Victoria. HUNK IN TRUNKS
Paper Mosaic-collage on wooden canvas. This piece features a young hunky stud wearing some very small green trunks, making us wonder if he is a grower or a shower. THE QUADRIGA
Paper Mosaic-collage on card. This famous sculpture by the artist Adrian Jones is located on top of the Wellington Arch, located on a traffic island between Hyde Park and Green Park, behind the Buckingham Palace gardens.The Quadriga replaced the original sculpture of the 1st Duke of Wellington in 1912 after the arch was moved to its current location. This sculpture was commissioned by King Edward VII and it was the biggest sculpture in Britain until the erection of the Angel of the North in 1998.   This collage was made using recycled paper from magazines on a paper sheet.
