I couldn’t be more excited to share that I’ll be showing my work in my first solo exhibition at Salon in Cliftonville.
Paper Cuts is my first solo exhibition and brings together a small survey of the work I’ve made while living in the UK: homoerotic collage pieces, portraits, and landmark images from Margate and Thanet.
The exhibition explores my relationship with Thanet—where I’ve lived since 2011—alongside my personal development and the ways I’ve “cut out” self-censorship through homoerotic imagery, portraits, and other works that simply exist on their own terms.
The work I’ll be showing is primarily collage-based. Instead of paint, I use cut coloured magazine paper to build mosaic-like images through a slow process of selecting, cutting, and layering.
You’re all invited to come and see it from 14–20 May (11:00–16:00), with a Private View on Friday 15 May (18:00–21:00). Come along, bring your money, and take some unique artwork home.
